We were able to ask our dino pals to stay with us in Room 8 for one more week. We’ll still be working on some very fun activities and some special family members will be coming in to read to us during circle time. The messiest project of the week will also be the most fun when we make dinosaur eggs in hopes that they will hatch on Friday. This has become a tradition in my class and the children love the event almost as much as I do. We’ll share our very own “All About Dinosaurs” book that we made last week during circle time and I hope that once the children bring the book home it will continued to be read and looked at. We’ll also do some dinosaur counting and sorting.
Our Letter of the Week is “H” The target vocabulary will be: Hat, Horse, House and Hamburger. On Friday, I am asking that your child not only bring something in for SHOW and TELL but also wear his or her favorite hat in to school. I am also trying to see if we can have a special snack on that day consisting of one of our words of the week: Hamburgers!! I want to get Hamburger Happy Meals for the children.
Keep working at home with your child on the weekly vocabulary. Your son or daughter is not too young for the question “What did you do at school today?” They should be able to answer you with one or more the daily activities. Also take a look at the objectives that are on your child’s current IEP and see if there is one in particular that you could work on during the week at home.
Upcoming March Themes
Lion or Lamb?
Insects and Bugs
Saint Patrick’s Day
Bunnies, chicks, eggs and egg hunts
