I know that I say this often, but this is going to be one of my favorite weeks of instruction. We'll be reading (and re-reading) "The Mitten" by Jan Brett. It is a beautifully written and illustrated book about a little boy who goes out to play and loses one of his new white mittens. We will talk about all of the forest creatures that take up residence in his mitten on a very cold day. We'll have our own mitten and we'll color all of the animals from the book.
Word Wall Words: Mitten, hedgehog, mole, rabbit, fox, owl, mouse, bear, badger and squeeze.
Also, this week we'll begin our work on the second letter of the alphabet: Letter "B" will have us working on the following words: boots, bear, book and ball.
Action word for this week: Bouncing.
Just like last week we'll have a special "Show and Tell" on Friday. Please help your child pick out a "B" item to bring in a share with us.
