Although February can be a dreary weather month, music makes us all feel a little cheerier.
Our Kindergarten classes will be learning about the days of the week and doing Valentine's Day songs and songs about President Washington and President Lincoln for the President's Day Holiday.
The Second Graders are working very hard on learning the songs for our March musical, "Seussical". Parent letters and word sheets should have come home. Please have your child practice the words EVERY night with you.
Third graders are finishing Unit 2 in their music books. We talked about pitch patterns, learned to write notes and learned about dynamics and tempo. After taking an end of unit test, they will be starting Unit 3.
Finally, our Fourth Graders are learning to play their recorders. By the end of the month, they will have learned three pitches (B, A & G) and will be able to play simple songs. They are also learning how to write the notes on the staff.
DO something musical during February!
