| A Great New Year! |
Hello parents and students, and welcome to a great new year! I am very excited to be joining the Landstown community as your new elementary gifted resource teacher. Though I have been in gifted education for many years, I am new to Virginia Beach City Schools. I have been enjoying meeting new students and learning about all of the wonderful things in my new school.
As I learn my way around, I'll be sharing my experience and knowledge (old and new)with you here on my web page, in a quarterly gifted newsletter and in parent workshops. In the meantime, feel free to contact me with any questions you might have.
And...we're off to an exciting new year! |

MISDIAGNOSIS AND DUAL DIAGNOSES OF GIFTED CHILDREN AND ADULTS by James T. Webb, et. al
The authors give a good overview of gifted characteristics and challenges and help the reader to understand the differences between characteristics of the gifted and those with disabilities. They explain, however, that an individual with a disability may also be gifted or twice exceptional.
