| This is an Independent Study seminar. You must have completed the Introduction to Art History course to take this class. In this class we will focus more heavily on the Ancient World (prehistoric, Mesopotamia, Byzantium, etc.) , non-western art (sub-Sahara Africa, Asia, Native art of the Americas and Pacific Islands) and Modern Art from around the world. |

Chapter 4 and the first section of chapter 6 the Etruscans. I want everyone to prepare a 5 minute presentation on one of the cultures we have studied thus far. (prehistoric, mesopotamian, aegean, etruscan) Please have several works of art (3-4 or more) that you can tell the class about. you can use my projector if you like or just bring in the pictures.

| Read chapter 2 in your textbook. Choose one of the civilizations Sumer, Babylon, Assyria, and Persia and do some research on the culture. It would be great if you can bring in some information or pictures of art/architecture that aare not in our book. I want everyone to be able to talk about several pieces of art that they found interesting. |
