This course is a further exploration of theatre with students who have already taken the Intro class. Students will work independently to create an acting/technical production portfolio. Students will study the different styles of acting and will work towards a class production in the spring.
Anyone interested in running Cross Country this fall MUST have your parents/guardians attend the MANDATORY meeting on Thursday, August 13th, at 6:30 p.m. Information and forms will be passed out at this meeting. You will not be allowed to run if you do not have a physical on file and up-to-date for the entire season. We will begin running next week, start hydrating yourself! You will find the Runner's World link very helpful as you begin training for the long distance run. Be sure to check how much water intake you should be getting based on your BMI with the hydrator tool on the website. It is possible to be over-hydrated, though very rare!
A brief introduction of the origins of Drama. We will look at the different genres of theatre and various plays relevant to that time period. Minimal solo acting, but some group performances will be required.
The auditions for the One Act Competition Play will be Tuesday, August 11th, at 6:00 p.m. in the SHS auditorium. The competition play is a small cast of actors who travel and compete with the production. This year, Georgia Theatre Conference will be held in Columbus, Georgia Oct. 14-17th. Actors will be competing against students from around the state. The public performances for the One Act are Oct. 22nd and 23rd at 7:00 p.m. in the SHS Auditorium. Region One Act Competition will more than likely be held on November 6th. Location will be announced soon. Whether you are interested in performing or backstage, come to the audition to see if you've got what it takes!! Hope to see you there!
