| The students are working on identifying steady beat. We move and play instruments to demonstrate the beat in music. They are beginning to recognize rhythmic and melodic patterns. Students have been learning to distinguish between loud and soft music, high and low pitches, fast and slow beats. They identify steady beat at various tempos within the music. Students demonstrate their ability to match pitches by singing simple melodies. Rhythmic notation is introduced and 1st grade is already sight reading simple rhythms. The students demonstrate their knowledge of these music concepts through interactive music games, movement, singing and playing instruments. The students have been doing a wonderful job! |
