| Words and Books |
I fell in love with books and words at a very young age. They were my escape from the harsh realities of life. How do you feel when someone you care about says “I love you” or “get away from me!”
Words have the power to evoke many emotions; they can tear us down, inspire us, motivate us, build us up, and make clear what we think, feel, desire, need.
I still have the very first hand-written notes (and every one since) each of my two children wrote me. I still have all the letters my brother Bruce mailed me during his years in the USMC. I still have the picture letters with “Love, Paulbie” on them from my youngest brother as well as ones written from him while in Iraq, many years later. I cherish these written words because they give meaning to my life and are part of who I am.
In truth, words have POWER.
This year, as we read and write, may you be inspired and be inspirational through words!
"The things I want to know are in books;
my best friend is the man who'll get me a book I ain't read."
~Abraham Lincoln
