Since our Writing SOL Test is now over, my focus in class will now shift towards Social Studies.
Each day, I will begin class with about 15 minutes of a read-aloud from the book "Chasing Vermeer" by Blue Balliett. The remainder of the hour will be devoted to Social Studies.
Writing assignments will be directly related to the book or whatever we are studying for Social Studies at that moment. Also, we will continue to have spelling quizzes.
Students will need to spend much more time studying their Social Studies notes from now on.
