Welcome to English 12A - 12B - 12C. During school year 2012-2013, you will study British Literature, Modern World Classics, Romantic and Victorian poetry. Time will be spent studying Antigone, the novels Cry the Beloved Country and All Quiet on the Western Front. A major research project starts in the first term and is followed with a detailed paper and speech. Other speeches are expected along with various written assignments.

This course, receiving English credit, involves learning to: 1. Read different types of print 2. Use SQ3R and other reading strategies 3. Build vocabulary 4. Develop test taking skills 5. Establish overall confidence in utilizing reading, speaking, listening, and writing skill sets. Students can expect, with their cooperation, to improve scores on the MCA II/GRAD reading assessment.
