Sarah Livingston

Congratulations to Sarah Livingston, 2nd place, and Emily Smith, 3rd place, in the grades 6-8 division of the state Youth Art Month flag contest! They will be honored at an awards ceremony in Baton Rouge on May 7. Sixteen Art Lab students created proposed color pencil designs for the 2012 Youth Art Month Flag to represent Louisiana. Youth Art Month is in March, and the purpose of it is to let our legislators know that the arts are a valuable component of education and to celebrate youth art in general. All of them did an outstanding job, so it was very difficult to select only 5 to send to the state competition.
