"Creativity Takes Courage." -Henri Matisse...Art is fun! But one of the most challenging things about making art is having the courage to create something that comes from your heart. Just dive right in without fear, and you will be amazed by what you can do. One of the many wonderful things about art is that mistakes are not failures…they are OPPORTUNITIES to learn something and to turn a WHOOPS into a WOW! Problem-solving, creative thinking, design skills, drawing skills, art appreciation, self-confidence and self-expression…these are just some of the many benefits of learning about art. I am looking forward to seeing what the Stallion artists create!

6th grade, 9 weeks, paired with Music. Students will take 9 weeks of art and switch to Music for the other half of the semester, or vice versa.

8th grade, 1 semester, for students who have taken Beginning Art & Art II and wish to further develop art skills and self-expression with more challenging projects.

8th grade, full year, pre-select (application required), 20 or fewer students. Students must have at least 1 prior art class at CMM, be responsible and have a passion for art. Students participate in art competitions, such as the Rose Center Christmas Card contest and Artbreak, and work to prepare individual portfolios.

7th grade, 1 semester, an introductory class for students who did not take Art in 6th grade.

7th & 8th grades, 1 semester, for students who have taken at least 1 art class at CMM and wish to continue developing their skills.
