I would like to welcome you to Business Information Management 1 and provide you with a brief overview of the courses!! My name is Coach Perry, and I am the BIM 1 teacher. I am very excited to be at Lancaster High School and I have been a part of the community for the last 4 years.

In the Business Information Management or BIM 1 course over the year we will cover keyboarding skills and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Access. We will also cover Internet Explorer and MS Outlook. (1) The student develops skills for success in the workplace. The student selects appropriate technology to address business needs. The student applies word processing technology.
The student applies spreadsheet technology. The student applies database technology. The student exchanges information via telecommunications technology with appropriate supervision.
The student applies desktop publishing technology. The student applies presentation management technology. The student identifies the concepts of a computer network. The student analyzes computer operating systems and emerging technologies.

I strive to provide a comfortable, structured, and fun learning environment in which students are respected as individuals with unique challenges and talents, and receive instruction that is tailored for their needs.

I also utilize a great deal of integrated instruction. By this, I mean that I not only teach how to use Business computer skills in everyday life, I also incorporate English, Math, Social Studies and History into the computer environment. This also allows the student to retouch on other subjects and reinforce the learning process.
