Welcome!
Hello! My name is Ms. Anderson. I am excited to say that this is my first year at Melrose Area Schools! First quarter, I teach 8th Grade FACS and Quilting, Crafts, and More at the high school level. I am excited for the school year.
GO DUTCHMEN!
8th Grade FACS
This is a quarter class giving students a chance to practice technical
reading while making a sewing project. Students learn about fibers, fabric production, clothing care, and how to use the sewing machine. Students will sew warm, reversible mittens along with a sporty duffel bag.
Fall Football Cheerleading
I am also the Cheerleading Advisor at Melrose.
Upcoming games: 10/8 Dutchmen vs. Albany @Albany High School 7:00pm 10/15 Dutchmen vs. Sauk Centre @ Home 7:00pm 10/20 Dutchmen vs. Mora @ Home 7:00pm Come watch and support your Melrose Dutchmen Cheerleaders!
Quilting, Crafts, and More
Students interested in creating art through fabrics will enjoy this class and earn an art credit as well. The sewing machine will be used to make individual projects of a students choice. All students will learn about the history of quilting and create a quilt of their choice. Many techniques will be learned and used to make small
projects. The life-long need for the ability to read and follow directions, is stressed. We will be starting with a beginner sewing project: warm, reversible mittens. We then will be making fuzzy stuffed animals. |
