Biology Concepts
Concepts in the study of life are presented to students in this introductory biology course. This course begins with an understanding of the scientific method and laboratory techniques. The course next explains the chemical components of life, and continues with a discussion of the cell and its processes. These broad biological concepts lead to the understanding of the dynamics of living things and their associated functions and structures at various levels of development. The laboratory protocols, cooperative learning techniques and enrichment activities are designed to enhance problem solving skills while exploring biological concepts.
