College Algebra
Topics include graphs, function and their inverses; data analysis and modeling; polynomial and rational functions; roots of polynomial equations, exponential and logarithmic functions; linear and non-linear systems of equations and inequalities, determinants, matrices; binomial theoerm, sequences and series, permutations and combinations.
UIL
I will be coaching Calculator Applications, Number Sense, and General Math UIL/TMSCA this year. Students will be working very hard in order to earn a place on these teams! We will be travelling to several different practice meets throughout the year, all in preparation for the district, regional, and state meets at the end of the year! Good luck!
Pre-AP Pre-cal
In pre-cal, we will focus on characterizing and working with different types of functions using verbal, numerical, graphical, and symbolic representations. We will introduce several new functions including exponential and logarithmic, trigonometric, and piece-wise. We will also use series and sequences to model and solve real-life problems and will wrap up the year looking at conic sections and vectors.
AP Calculus AB
The goals of the Calculus AB class include working with functions in a variety of ways, understanding the meanings and relationships of derivatives and integrals, and modeling physical situations using functions, derivatives, and integrals. We will use many different methods to understand each of these topics.
AP Calculus BC
Calculus BC is an extension of the AB class. In addition to the topics listed there, students will go deeper into the understanding of calculus by using different methods of finding and using the derivative and integral and also working with polar and vector functions.
