English 7 is a year long course concentrating on the following language arts units: grammar, usage, spelling, paragraph construction, literature, reading comprehension, dictionary and library use, public speaking and communication in general.

Eighth grade English focuses on the exploration of literature and language. The skills of writing, reading, speaking, mechanics, grammar, and usage will be emphasized, as all of these skills are important in becoming a productive member of our complex and changing world. Students will develop an appreciation not only for literature but also the authors and their respective styles. They will identify and analyze elements of fiction and non-fiction as they explore and discuss many short stories and novels.
