¡Bienvenidos a la clase de español! Welcome to Spanish! I'm very happy to have you in class and am looking forward to doing lots of interesting, fun things this year.
CIS Spanish 1003
This is a 5 credit University of Minnesota Spanish course taught at the high school. The emphasis in this course is on communication in Spanish. Students will practice speaking and comprehending Spanish, and will develop reading and writing skills based on materials from Spain and the Spanish speaking world. The course will include grammar review, compositions and oral presentations. Class is conducted in Spanish and students are expected to use only Spanish in class. All materials and exams are provided by the University of Minnesota. Grading is weighted for this class.
Spanish 1
This course provides an introduction to the language and culture of the Spanish speaking world, stressing the ability to ask for and give information and to describe situations in Spanish. Students will be able to communicate in a variety of situations. Students will develop skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing in Spanish and increase awareness of Spanish speaking cultures.
Spanish 4
In Spanish 4 we will be focusing on communication in Spanish. We will be emphasizing all of the skills of language learning: reading, writing, speaking and listening. We will review grammar from past years and learn a lot of new grammar as well. There will be several literary selections in Spanish. There will also be frequent writing and speaking projects.
