Each new year I re-remember that universal public education and freedom of speech are the cornerstones of our free society. I am so happy to be a part of such a grand plan, as an American educator. I hope this will be a very good year for you; I anticipate that it will be for me, because I know how much enjoyment and satisfaction learning and teaching brings.

AP Literature & Composition W-3
This course is open to seniors with a B average and teacher recommendation. It provides intensive training in college writing skills and a study of great ideas in classic literature. This course follows an approved national College Board approved syllabus. See College Board website. Summer reading is required. Dual Credit option is available through Crowder College. No prerequisites are needed. See Crowder College Dual Credit information.

L. A. 4--College Prep/Writing W-1
This class fulfills one of the 4 Language Arts credits required for high school graduation. It includes practice in writing skills needed for post-high school career or education. Survey of English/world literature is covered.
L.A. 4 - Dual Credit English - B-3
This class serves two purposes. First, it prepares students for freshman college level writing. Second, it gives advanced students an opportunity to earn required high school credit, plus 3 hours of college credit per semester through Crowder College. Crowder's prerequisite for Englsh 101 is 18 on the ACT English subtest or specified score on Compass test. This course adheres to the approved Crowder College syllabus.
