*Italian Honor Society will meet the 2nd Monday of every month in D212 at 2:05. It would be nice if the Italian Honor Society students were also a part of the Italian Club and attended the other meetings as well. Then you can get credit for both groups on your transcript and some of our activities will overlap.
*The Italian Honor Society inducts new members every Spring in April or May and students who maintain a 90 average (A-) in Italian (throughout their high school studies), commit to studying Italian through graduation from HHS AND are enthusiastic regarding the Italian language and culture will be asked to join the Italian Honor Society, which is an HONOR to put on your transcript!!!! After such induction you are expected to follow the requirements listed above AND participate in future induction ceremonies as well as in an annual service assignment (such as: the Alzheimer’s Walkathon) and a fundraiser (usually candy). You are also required to attend one monthly meeting (see Mrs. Rochniak if there are extenuating circumstances). Also note that students are allowed to be inducted AFTER their 3rd high school semester. If their grades slide below a 90, then they will go on probation; if their grades are NOT brought back up to par, then they risk losing their status as a member. Also, if they do not continue to study Italian through their senior year, they lose their status as well.

In questo corso italiano gli studenti continuano gli studi italiani e rinforzano le loro abilita' scrivendo, leggendo, ascoltando e parlando in italiano. Anche studiano piu' cultura italiana. Continuano ad usare il libro "Prego, la 6a edizione" ed anche un altro libro supplimento che si chiama "Un'estate tutta diversa". La professoressa raccomanda/suggerisce che gli studenti abbiano un dizionario italiano da utilizzare. In bocca al lupo!

In questo corso gli studenti lavorano moltissimo ripassando i tempi verbali e la grammatica. Praticano molto scrivendo, leggendo, ascoltando, parlando in italiano ed anche studiano molta cultura italiana. Questo corso fa molta attenzione alla letteratura e la poesia vecchia italiana--Dante, Petrarca e Boccaccio e molti altri autori italiani. In questo corso si usa una varieta' dei libri, ma il libro al centro degli studi e' "The Italian Heritage". Si studia anche un po' della storia italiana, della geografia italiana e dell'arte italiana. La professoressa raccomanda/suggerisce che gli studenti abbiano un dizionario italiano da utilizzare.
