This week we will meet Mr. Uu with his unusual umbrella! Students will match the letter u to the /u/ sound, write the letters Uu using top, middle and bottom lines, orally blend sounds in words with /u/, listen for initial and mediall /u/ in words, delete phonemes to form new words, we will also review adjectives. Our story this week is called "Seed Secrets", we will listen to the story and identify sequence of events. Our readable this week is called " Was Kip Here?", we will read this story in various ways and it will come home on Friday in your child's folder, ask them to read it to you, you will be amazed at what awesome readers they are! Our new sight words this week are " here" and "was", please practice all sight words we have learned so far nightly. In Math we will be subtracting 4 and pennies, reading and subtracting numbers in vertical form, and practicing writing number sentences using addition and subtraction.
