What is a "Resource Room?" It's a dynamic environment, in which all resources available are used to address each student's special learning needs. It's a place where students become independent learners and thinkers, and grow to develop a sense of curiosity about the world and people around them.
Reading, Language Arts, and Math are the primary subjects taught in the Resource Room. The Voyager Reading Program is our core reading program. The students love Voyager's Ticket-To-Read computer program!
About Me: I'm a native Chicagoan who came to Houston almost ten years ago, in search of a change of scenery (and weather!).
I have earned degrees in English, Social Work, and Special Education, and am also a Culinary School graduate. That's a lot of book learnin'!
But the most meaningful part of my education has been learning to take new approaches in addressing the needs of my students, and using all that I've learned to help kids grow, in spirit and in mind.
I feel very fortunate to have been part of the Condit Family for the past seven years. I love teaching in the Resource Room, to a group of truly inspirational students.
