Two Japanese Cultural events on August, 5. I hope you are all having great summer! I have information of the Japanese related events for those who are in the area this Wednesday. Universal Peace Day Service, at NYBC, The New York Buddhist Church (http://newyorkbuddhistchurch.org/), to commemorate Hiroshima & Nagasaki Atomic Bombing, from 6:30pm. Silent Peace Walk to the Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew (W. 86th & West End), from 7:20pm - 8pm. Interfaith Peace Prayer and Peace Day Music Concert at the Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew, from 8pm. Sadako and the Origami Crane as a Symbol of Peace: A Talk by Kazuko Minamoto at Tribute WTC Visitor Center 120 Liberty Street, NYC 10016 (South side of Ground-Zero) On Wednesday, August 5 at 6:30 pm, Kazuko Minamoto from the Japan Society will give a presentation about the meaning of origami cranes in Japan and their use as a symbol of healing and peace.  This event is free and open to the public by reservation only. To reserve a space, please contact rsvp@tributewtc.org. For more information, please open the attachments on your class site.
