Second Tri Has Begun!
It's a fresh start for those of you that need it and time to keep the train rolling for those who had a good first trimester. As always, I'm available virtually every day after school for extra help.
Essential English 9 Period 3
Course Objectives / Outcomes
English 9 has adopted the Career Choices curriculum. In Essential English, we will be completing a modified version of this curriculum. This is an interdisciplinary curriculum that helps students develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to successfully: examine their own lives, explore and evaluate a wide range of education and career options, and make reasoned and researched goals for their future. The Freshman Career Seminar course facilitates the in-depth exploration of three fundamental questions: Who am I? What do I want? How do I get it? Additionally, the ninth grade English course focuses on the study of reading and literature, writing and language, speaking, listening, and viewing. Each student also completes frequent on-demand writing and prepared writing. Literary concepts are taught through the study of short stories, mythology, plays, and novels. Speaking and listening skills are practiced throughout the year. Course Topics This course includes but is not limited to: novels, short stories, poetry, grammar, narrative, persuasive essay, drama, mythology, and various other elements
