SENIORS Please continue to work with your counselor regarding post-secondary planning. Please be sure to share your information with your parents concerning the application procedure, request for transcript, teacher recommendations, internet sites, FAFSA information and SAT/ACT registration. Parents and students are always invited to schedule individual appointments. Please complete a green Transcript Request Form signed by both you and a parent for each college and scholarship to which you apply. It is important to visit your colleges of interest, so plan your visits as soon as possible. College visits at BHS: Many colleges visit BHS every month. Please remember that a pass must be obtained at least one day in advance of a college visit, but no later than 7:45 am on the day of the college visit. Please sign up for each visit in the Guidance Department. Reminder: Please give your counselor the signed permission form to add your photo & future plans to the "Class of 2011" bulletin board. Donít forget to file your FAFSA after January 1, 2011. Just a reminder that both you and a parent must have a PIN which can be obtained at www.pin.ed.gov . Please note that the free website to file the FAFSA is www.fafsa.gov . Be sure to use your personal code found within your score report to log in at www.collegeboard.com/quickstart. QuickStart is a free college and career planning program which provides access to answer explanations, a personalized SAT study plan and information about colleges, majors and careers that are right for you. Please see your counselor to discuss post-secondary plans, including researching colleges, trade schools, the military and/or employment opportunities. SOPHOMORES Continue to utilize websites to research and review interest inventories, career planning, military information and volunteer opportunities. A good place to start is at www.njsca.org/col/col&car.htm. When you complete an interest inventory, please print it and share it with your counselor. All BHS events and activities are up and running! Be sure to read all about your high school happenings Ė sports, clubs, activities, etc. on the scanner in the cafeteria. Itís a great way to get involved. FRESHMEN Continue to stop in the Guidance Office if you have a question or concern. Before or after school and at lunchtime is usually good for quick questions. A longer appointment time can also be scheduled as well. It is important to be involved in your school. This is a reminder that all students can take advantage of sports, clubs and activities. Please review the scanner in the cafeteria each day for updates on various activities. Guidance Department

I am one of the counselors in the BHS Guidance Department who serves both students and parents. Among the services I provide include assistance with scheduling, academic advisement, post-secondary planning and transition, financial aid, assessments and personal/social support. I take pride in my studentsí accomplishments and am a resource for students, parents, staff and the community.
