Hi everyone! I'm Senora Davis, Spanish 1 & 2 Teacher at Melrose Area High School. I enjoy working at the Senior High level very much and it is always a pleasure to introduce a new language to my students. Beginning Spanish classes are a time to explore what foreign language learning is all about. We do this by incorporating a huge variety of activities into our learning. Every day is a different day, and it often involves cooking, dancing, travel based discussions and games along with traditional, grammar based instruction.

Our annual MHS Spanish trip is always a highlight every school year. The Spanish dept. strives to offer a variety of travel itineraries to numerous Spanish speaking countries. An initial international travel experience with peers is invaluable. The opportunity to travel with familiar faces in unfamiliar places is always a very positive experience for young adults! The Spanish dept. supports this travel ideology as a learning tool in our classes. In addition, a positive travel experience as an adolescent will create an adult with the life experiences necessary to function in a global society.
