Greetings and welcome
to Sophomore English 27 at Hamden High!
This is an important year. We will be reading Bildungsromans, science fiction and Macbeth. We will increase independence in research, critical thinking and writing skills so that we are prepared for success on the CAPT and, more importantly, in life.
Years ago, my French and Spanish teacher called us little "suffer-mores." He was right that we had to work hard for him. We did, however, enjoy what we learned and felt proud by the year's end. This year, the plan is for us to work hard and learn lots so that we, too, will feel proud of our accomplishments. |
