AP Chemistry
AP Chemistry is a year long rigorous and challenging course. It is a course designed to prepare you for college chemistry with an emphasis on in-depth problem solving. This course provides a challenge for the highly motivated student who possesses a well above average mathematical background and is considering a mathematics or science related college major. AP Chemistry is intended to help you prepare for the AP exam and hopefully give you the opportunity to earn college credit. Helpful websites:
Link to Materials Camp at the U of M http://mnasm.org/camp/ This is a fun website to review Oxidation numbers http://www2.stetson.edu/mahjongchem/ Directions for accessing the online Zumdahl Textbook are below under class downloads. Here is the link to get you started. http://login.cengage.com/cb/
Chemistry
This Chemistry course is designed to explore the many different aspects of Chemistry, and is appropriate for college bound students. Chemistry is a challenging, mathematical based course, but the stress is on ability to reason. Labs, as they fit into the over-all scheme are used to demonstrate certain aspects of the chapters covered.

Classroom Materials
It is expected that each student will bring a:
- pencil - a folder dedicated only for Chemistry - a notebook - a lab notebook (this is a bound composition notebook and can be found at target, walmart etc.) - a scientific calculator able to handle exponents (TI 30 is sufficient). - Also, a commitment to quality study time both in class and on a regular basis at home.
Pre-AP Chemistry
Pre-AP Chemistry is a year long course meant to be taken as a pre-requisite for AP Chemistry. This Chemistry course is designed to explore the many different aspects of Chemistry, and is appropriate for college bound students. Chemistry is a challenging, mathematical based course, with additional emphasis on in-depth problem solving. This course provides a challenge for the highly motivated student who possesses a well above average mathematical background and is considering a mathematics or science related college major. Students will perform labs, as they fit into the over-all curriculum to demonstrate certain aspects of the chapters covered. A few of the labs will also fufill part of the AP Chemisry lab requirements as well . This course differs from regular Chemistry in that we will be more mathematical based, with a focus on introducing higher level AP style problem solving questions in each chapter.
