Welcome to VMMS Art. We will study art and techniques of North, Central & South America, Europe and Australia. We will learn to draw what we see and sharpen our drawing abilities.
We have been focusing on drawing using techniques that artist use. We will begin drawing and enlarging using the grid method where we will start a class mural.

Welcome to VMMS Art. We will spend the next semester studying art and techniques of Asian and African Art as well as drawing techniques.
This week we are looking at the Japanese principle of light and dark called notan. We will be creating a series of notan squares using this "square expansion" technique.

8th graders will spend the semester studying art in America. We will work on techniques and styles of Native Americans up to Modern Art.
This week we are studying Pop Art of the 1960's and famous Pop Artists such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Keith Harring. We will use an icon of popularity and use it to make art.

Art club will meet each during ELT (extended learning time).
We are currently working on two projects. One is a project of choice to be hung at the Columbus Museum for National Youth Art Month in March. We are also putting together a display on bullying to be displayed at VMMS.
