Folk Tales
In this unit students will be presented with the challenge of bringing back the ancient art of storytelling. They will read and listen to stories from different countries and learn the common themes and elements each contain. Students will discover folk tales are a tradition in cultures all around the world.

Game Factory
Cheatum Swindle is running the Goodwin's game factory into the ground by producing unfair games. It is up to the students to use math skills to save the company! In this unit students will work in pairs performing hands-on experiments with spinners, dice, coins, and cards to test the probabilities of Cheatum's games. In a final push to save the company's reputation, student pairs will design and persent a game.

Roller Coaster
Students will be transformed into scientific sleuths with a simulated amusement park mystery. Students will use the discoveries of Galileo, Newton and more to solve the perplexing problems of Roller Coaster World's rides. Finding contextual clues, forming hypotheses, performing experiments and making conclusions are all part of the fun of figuring out the park's puzzling problems.

Students will become historians as they explore the history of their local communities. They will conduct an interest driven research project that will take them on an engaging journey through time. Students will create and share products to express their learning.
