Hello, my name is Dana Simmons-Jackson. I teach Math, English Language Arts and Writing. I am also the VAC Coordinator and Crisis Prevention Intervention director. I have been with Queen City for 11 years and I have three children - Cody, Katie and Chase and they all attended Queen City. At this time I have two grandsons Kanyon Taylor who is in the Headstart Program and has started a new generation of Bulldogs and Kingston Ray who will begin his tenure as a Dawg in 2012. I love sports and my favorite teams are the Saints, Colts and the Giants.
Math
Our math class is the best place to be. It is fun and full of excitement. There are a lot of hands on activities and games where students are actively and physically engaged.
Writing
This class offers additional help with to those students struggling in the area of writing. We help the students learn to brain storm, use graphic organizers and to have more fluency in their writings.
English Language Arts
One of the classes we offer at Queen City High School is the Passport Reading Journeys program. This program is offered to those students who are struggling to read at grade level.
Journey's has many different activities and stations that actively challenge each student and prepare them for better independent reading. |
