Our goal is to update our house site on Fridays. Please check back regularly to see what is happening in the Alps house.

Students will be learning about the history of the United States this year. We will start with the Civil War and finish at the present day. Each of our country's important wars, presidents, events and changes will be covered.

In our language arts class, we will be doing a variety of activities that are related to reading and written language. We will learn strategies that students can use when they come across a word that they are having difficulty with. It is very important that they bring a book with them, which is at their level, with them to class daily.

In 7th grade English we will work with a varitey of texts, including short stories, novels, and poetry. The common thread/focus thoughout the year is understanding literary terms as well as the way a story is constructed (story arc or plot line). Along the way we will also be studying grammar, spelling, and doing a lot of work with independent reading projects.

This is a pre algebra class. We are studying the basics of linear equations and number sense including fractions and decimals.

Welcome to 7th grade Life Science. This year we will study animals, plants, human anatomy, microbiology, ecology and much, much more.

To access the on-line science textbook -> www.connected.mcgraw-hill.com Students all have a username and password, it was written down in their planners.

The seventh grade Spanish class meets every other day, alternating with STEM. The goal of the class is to complete the first half of the District's level 1 Spanish curriculum. Topics include: Greeting, months of the year and days of the week, colors, numbers, body parts, descriptive words, and introductory topics in Spanish grammer.
Students are expected to come to class prepared, complete all homework, and use Spanish as much as possible both in and out of class.
